With the cold temperatures this weekend – and more snow on the way – we are sharing some great outdoor adventures you can enjoy in and around Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County.
Hudson Mills Metropark

This large metropark offers a variety of outdoor activites year round. During the summer, you can go golfing, disc golfing (on the nationally ranked course), fishing, biking, and running on the Board-to-Board trail that winds along the beautiful Huron River into Dexter, MI.
When winter strikes, the park is just as fun! The metroparks staff does a great job grooming the footpaths for bikers and runners. If you want to try something different, you can cross country ski on miles of well-groomed trails. Cross country skiing will get your blood pumping and the Hudson Mills trails have a variety of difficulty levels so that even beginners will have a great time. Rental packages with boots, skis and poles are available for $15 per person.

Rolling Hills County Park
Rolling Hills Park is open year round and offers various activities to enjoy during the winter months. In winter, the park features a sledding hill, a half mile of cleared walking trail, and three miles of groomed cross country ski trails. (weather permitting). Winter equipment is available for rent. Please remember that this is a sledding hill, so no snowboards or downhill skis allowed.

Ann Arbor Ski Club
If you are interested in knowing more about ski opportunities in the Ann Arbor area, check out this awesome group. They are an all-volunteer group, primarily singles as well as couples. This is an active ski club with a combination of many Nordic and Alpine trips for local, weekend and week-long trips. During ski season and off-season, A2SC is also a very active social club offering a wide range of options for social gatherings. While many members live in the Ann Arbor area, we also have members stretching from Trenton to Lansing, and Adrian to Troy.
