One of my favorite things about summertime in Michigan is going to the beach. There’s nothing I love more than a weekend getaway to Lake Michigan, where I can enjoy the soft sand and crisp blue waters.
While it may seem a ways away now, the campground reservations at Michigan’s many beautiful state parks are filling up quickly. The Michigan State Park I like best is P.J. Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon. It has over three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, and a campground with over 290 sites. The lake stretches out as far as the eye can see, and the gigantic sand dunes seem to stretch just as far into the sky. They’re lined with miles of adventure-filled hiking trails, which are each surprisingly beautiful and some of which lead to more secluded beaches.
