Here are my top six landscaping and gardening centers in Ann Arbor. There are many more, but these six are well-stocked, fun-to-shop places offering excellent service.
1. Downtown Home and Garden

Downtown Home and Garden is known for its gardening supplies, indoor & outdoor plants, classic houseware, quality furniture, outdoor clothing, pet gear, and unique kitchenware!
The Hertler family opened the store in 1906. It used to be a livery stable and feed mill and now stands as an urban emporium for garden supplies. They have knowledgeable staff, a cafe featuring Zingerman’s baked goods, and two friendly cats—Wallace and Watson.

2. Turners

Since 1967, Turner’s has been helping the Ann Arbor area create beautiful outdoor spaces. Turners is the gold standard, with a huge selection of high-quality annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, and houseplants. Whether you’re in the market for landscape services or prefer hand-picking your plants from their expansive greenhouse, you will indeed find something that speaks to your green thumb.
3. Ann Arbor Farmers Market
- Location: 315 Detroit St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
- Hours: Saturdays and Wednesdays: 7 am-3 pm (May-Dec), Saturdays: 8 am-3 pm (Jan-Apr)
Love supporting local? Then, you’ll love the Ann Arbor Farmers Market! In addition to stocking up on fresh produce, you’ll find vendors selling locally grown garden stock, including flowers, seedlings, bushes and trees, and vegetables. Every plant I’ve ever bought from here has thrived, making it a must-visit destination for any plant enthusiast. There are many great vendors to buy plants from, but I recommend Frog Holler Farm.

4. Lucas Nursery & Landscaping

- Hours: Daily: 9 am-6 pm
Lucas Nursery & Landscaping has been a staple in the community for over half a century, offering nursery and greenhouse plants alongside comprehensive landscaping services. 5. Feral Flora

6. Alexander Farm Market & Greenhouses

- Hours: Daily: 10 am-7 pm (Greenhouses open late April/early May – October; Produce Market opens end of July)
At Whitmore Lake Rd and N Territorial, Alexander Farm Market & Greenhouses offers a wide selection of hanging baskets, decorative and bedding plantings, annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and fruit trees. They carry fresh produce, grocery items, and baked goods in late summer.
